@@@@@@For New Visitors

Welcome to our Hiroshima Church Website!
What are you expecting of the site you are reading now? I always wonder how amazing it is gto encounterh someone new, and afterwards I understand that God has given me the occasion for encountering this person. I sometime perceive Godfs providence not only when I encounter people, but also when I encounter particular happenings or even favorable songs and books. If I could have such a precious perception, I would like to cherish these gencounters.h
Church is where we can encounter the Grace of God. I hope that God will give such a joyful gencounterh to all of you. Visit our church, please, if you would like to do so. I pray that you will be given a marvelous occasion for encountering God. I would be extremely delighted if this site could introduce such an encounter to you.

@@@@@@Introducing our Church

@@Our church pioneers, starting missionary work in 1881, established Hiroshima Church, the first Protestant church in Hiroshima, in 1883.

@@Today, our Hiroshima Church is one of more than 1700 Protestant churches affiliated with United Church of Christ in Japan.Every Sunday, the congregation comprised of 100 to 120 people meets for Sunday Morning Service; and for Evening Service, 15 to 20 people come to meet. Besides believers, there are people who have an interest in Christianity and who hope to study the Bible. Attendance is open to all, and therefore feeling free, please come and join us.

@@The main point of gthe serviceh is in gthe sermonh: the pastor preaches, interpreting passages from the Bible, hoping for its teachings to be practically applied in everyday life.  Next is gthe prayer,h which expresses wishes or thanksgiving, and next comes gthe hymnh to give thanks to God for our real life given here and now. The last point is gcollection,h an example of our thanksgiving. The service ends with gthe benedictionh (the prayer of blessing) by the pastor.Psalm

@@Every Sunday after gthe service,h ga meeting for new visitorsh is held to permit the asking of questions and discussion of the sermon. To foster good fellowship, we hold other activities as well: meetings for gsinging hymns,h greading poems,h greading cultural books,h gwatching videosh and programs for gyoung adults,h gthe middle-agedh and gseniors.h

@@We have other programs for studying the Bible and offering prayer: gBible Study and Prayerh is held every Thursday evening as well as the first Wednesday morning of each month.A gFamily Bible Studyh is also held in each area.

@@Through the activities of communicating with each other in church, we hope to find our own ways of true living as human beings, pursuing the essence of our own existence. If you would like to visit us, please do.We are waiting for you.
